as a limited active member. If you
live, work, or hang out anywhere near
Glenside Fire Co. and you are already a
firefighter at another company we want
to hear from you. Here's the deal:
If you are a trained and active
firefighter in another company, why not
respond to more calls and see more fire?
All you have to do is make about 35
calls a year and a few trainings and
you'll be a member at Station 1.
We always have and always will have an
open door for fellow firefighters from
other companies.

Engine 1 was dispatched for the
vehicle into a building at 201 Rice Mill Road. Crews arrived
to find a vehicle that had left the road, done some landscaping, and

Ladder 1
on Working House Fire in Station 2's First Due (3/15/2008)
At 23:22
hours Ladder 1 was dispatched for the house fire at 1113 Arboretum
Road, right outside of the first due. Chief 2 arrived on
location reporting a working basement fire. Engine 5 went in
service with a line to the basement quickly knocking the fire.
Ladder 1 set up on side A with the main and the crew went to work
opening up side C.
Ladder 1 Responds on Working House Fire in Station 2's First Due

At 22:08
hours Ladder 1 was dispatched for the house fire at 10 Underwood
Road in Station 2's local. Chief 2 arrived on the scene of
a 2 story single family dwelling with fire in a second floor
bedroom. Ladder 1 set up ground ladders to Side B and Side
D while the engine companies got a quick knock.

Responds on Working Building Fire in Flourtown's Local - (2/21/2008)
At 14:31 hours
County began receiving multiple calls for smoke and flames from 1501
Paper Mill Road. DC 700 arrived on location reporting a
working fire in a 1 story building. The crew from Ladder 1
helped vent the roof and open up inside. Ladder 1 cleared the

Responds on Working House Fire in 300's First Due - (2/17/2008)
At 14:29
hours, Ladder 1 was dispatched as a FAST team on a working house
fire at 2027 Wharton Rd in Station 300's First Due. Command had fire
on the second floor of the structure. Half of Ladder 1's crew went
to work in the house and the other half stood by as the FAST team.
The crew went to work with a handline, vented the second floor, and

Ladder 1 Responds on Working Apartment
Fire in Station 2's First Due -
(2/1/2008)
Ladder
1 responded to a working apartment fire
at 7649 Massey Way in Station 2's first
due. Engine 2 went in service with a
fire in a second floor bedroom. Ladder 1
set up the main in the rear of the
apartment and the crew went to work
setting up ground ladders and venting.
The ladder crew operated for about an
hour before heading home.
First Due
House Fire - 243 Brookdale Ave (1/28/2008)
At 17:56 hours,
the box was struck for a propane tank on fire inside of a house at
243 Brookdale Ave. Lt. 300 arrived on location reporting a working
kitchen fire. Engine 1 was the first truck on location and went in
service with an 1 3/4" line to the kitchen. Crews got a
quick knock on the fire and the fire was contained to the kitchen
area.
Vehicle Fire - 212 Limekiln Pike
(1/24/2008)
At
14:12 hours, Station 1 and Engine 5 were
dispatched for a reported Septa Bus on
fire in the area of Route 309 and Easton
Rd. The caller, however, reported
that the bus was near the Wawa.
Within a minute of that dispatch, county
advised that they were receiving reports
of a Mercedes on fire on Limekiln Pike between
Radcliffe Ave and Montier Road (a few
hundred feet from the Wawa). County
advised that they were separate
incidents. Assistant 1 arrived on
location of the Mercedes reporting the
engine compartment was involved. The
driver of the Septa Bus was able to hit
the fire in the bus with an

First Due
Building Fire - Limekiln Pike & Willow Grove Ave (1/5/2008)
At 15:33 hours a business
owner at 43 Limekiln Pike reported that smoke and flames could be
seen from a second floor window from a building across from this
address. Deputy 1 arrived on location reporting the same.
Engine 1 arrived on location, established their own water supply and
went in service with an 1 3/4" line to the second floor,
quickly extinguishing the small fire. D/C 1 had the command.
